Cellist Ellen O'Hayer moved to Lawrence from Chicago in February of 2010. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance from the DePaul University School of Music. She is currently Principal Cellist of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, and has held section positions with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Quad City Symphony, as well as a principal position with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. She is an experienced chamber musician, having spent 9 months as cellist for The Adagio Strings, a string quartet aboard Holland America Line cruise ships. She recently founded The Oread Strings in Lawrence, coordinating music for weddings and events in the area. Ellen has eight years of experience teaching students of all ages and ability levels.

Violinist Jill Woodhouse earned a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Missouri State University in 2006, and was awarded a Graduate Assistantship to continue her studies. She began playing violin at the age of five, and studied with Juilliard graduate Ann Hirschl and David Hays, concertmaster of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Jill served as concertmaster of the Missouri State Symphony and Chamber Orchestra for five years, and is in her eighth season as a member of the first violin section in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with many groups such as the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of the Ozarks, the Fort Smith Symphony, the Camelo String Quartet, and for several productions with the Springfield Regional Opera and Springfield Little Theatre. In the summer of 2005, Jill had the privilege of attending the Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. In May 2008, Jill received her Master of Music degree in violin performance from Missouri State University. Following graduation, Jill was hired as the professor of strings at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. In March 2009 she conducted the Association of Christian Schools International Honors Orchestra at the Black Forest Academy in Kandern, Germany. Jill is currently a member of the first violin section in the Topeka Symphony Orchestra and teaches violin privately from her home and Beautiful Music Violin Shop.
